Precision that transforms outcomes: How Parkway Oral Surgery & Dental Implants is leading the way with X-Nav technology

When it comes to dental implant placement, precision is everything. Even the smallest variation in angle, depth, or position can affect how well an implant functions and how confident a patient feels in their smile. That’s why Laith Mahmood, DDS, MD, and the team at Parkway Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center are leaders in the use of X-Nav, a dynamic surgical navigation system that allows implants to be planned and placed with remarkable accuracy.

What is X-Nav?

The X-Guide Dynamic Navigation system enhances precision by providing real-time, 3D navigation that guides implant placement with exceptional accuracy and allows the surgeon to visualize and adjust each step of the procedure as it happens
“Patients can think of X-Nav as a GPS system for implant surgery – an interactive, continuously updating guide that helps the surgeon maintain control and accuracy from start to finish,” says Dr. Mahmood.

How does it work?

Every implant procedure begins with a 3D scan of the patient’s mouth and jaw. From that scan, Dr. Mahmood and his team digitally map the ideal implant position, depth, and angle. During surgery, X-Nav tracks the drill and implant in real time, displaying their position on a 3D screen so the surgeon can confirm placement from start to finish.
This dynamic feedback allows subtle adjustments during surgery, ensuring each implant is placed where bone support, function, and esthetics align perfectly. For patients, this level of precision means
  • Greater safety, protecting surrounding nerves, sinuses, and bone structures
  • Less invasive procedures with smaller incisions and shorter surgical times
  • Faster, more comfortable recovery and fewer post-operative complications
  • More predictable, longer-lasting results with natural-looking outcomes

Leaders in the use of X-Nav

While many practices are just beginning to explore this technology, Dr. Mahmood and the Parkway Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center team were among the first in Texas to recognize that dynamic navigation would become central to modern implant surgery. This is why they quickly made it a cornerstone of their approach.
Today, Dr. Mahmood has performed nearly 2,000 implant procedures using X-Nav, establishing Parkway Oral Surgery as one of the most experienced providers of navigation-guided implant care. Parkway Oral Surgery & Dental Implant Center has also been designated a Center of Excellence by X-Nav Technologies in the use of the X-Guide Dynamic Navigation System.
“Our goal has always been to combine surgical expertise with the most innovative and effective technology available,” says Dr. Mahmood. “X-Nav enhances safety and precision and allows us to provide consistently high-quality results to each patient who walks through our doors.”
